Mel Gibson having Number Eight with Pregnant Girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva

UPDATE: Mel Gibson, 53, was a chatty guest last night with Jay Leno, who winds down his Tonight Show gig this week. Mel told Jay that he is taking the blame for his marriage to Robyn ending after 28 years and seven children. "My wife and I, our marriage ended three years ago and we've been separated ever since then," Gibson said. "These things happen. It's unfortunate, it's sad, but you know she is an admirable woman – we still got kids together. We're friends."

When Leno pressed Gibson by asking, "So what happened?" Gibson replied, "Look. When it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself. I'm to blame. If you're inclined to judge, put it here."

Leno then joked with Gibson about his dating a younger woman - Russian musician girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, 39. "What, is she 17, 18?" Leno asked, adding, "The rumor I have heard is that you guys are going to have a child?" Gibson replied: "This is true. We're gonna have a child."

Piling it on, Leno joked, "So that will make 29? " Quickly, Gibson responded, "Well, actually eight. I guess I'm Octo-Mel." Here, Mel chats about Oksana and her many talents.

Gibson’s wife of 27 years, Robyn, has filed for divorce, reportedly after being told of both her estranged husband’s relationship with Grigorieva and the fact she was pregnant with his baby.

Gibson is going to be shelling out big bucks in the near future, Robyn Gibson is expected to win half of her husband’s estimated $750 million fortune in her divorce settlement.

Gibson also has agreed to pay Grigorieva $10 million, ‘‘the moment her baby is born, and not one second beforehand.’’ In addition, the singer — who developed her relationship with Gibson after signing with the record label he owns — will be guaranteed $40,000 per month in child support until the kid is 18. On top of that all of the child’s educational expenses — including private elementary and high school costs, plus undergraduate college expenses — will be paid by Gibson.

If the couple do marry, I also understand a preliminary prenuptial agreement is in place that would pay Grigorieva an additional $25 million, with the stipulation being she would not be entitled to any other claim on Gibson’s fortune or potential estate if they are married at the time of this death.

Gibson's spokesman firmly denied all of this Tuesday, stating categorically, there is not "a financial arrangement of any sort," between Gibson and Grigorieva, calling the amounts quoted by the source as "absurd."
